新春嘉年华会 Chinese New Year Extravaganza

新春嘉年华会是多媒体大学（马六甲院校）华文学会其中一项常年活动。新春嘉年华会除了让友族同胞深入认识华族文 化，也开拓各国学子们的视野，让他们在感受新春气息的同时，更能学习中华文化的优良传统及风俗。多年来，新春嘉年华会除了要让学生在校园内感受到新春气 息，更尝试走入社区，让大学生与社会大众有所联系。故此，筹委会为了达到以上的宗旨而决定举办以下一系列的活动：新春馆，挥春比赛以及新春园游会。

The Chinese New Year Extravaganza (CNYE) is one of the annual events organized by Chinese language Society of Multimedia University (Malacca Campus). CNYE is not only provides a chance for the Chinese to celebrate Chinese New Year with other races, but also to promote cultural exchange among races and in the meanwhile to expose the cultures and traditional customs of Chinese to others. At the meantime, CNYE is also trying to create a jubilant atmosphere of Chinese New Year in and out of the campus so that students are still able to experience the marvellous traditions of Chinese while away from home. CNYE can improve the knowledge of undergraduates towards Chinese festivals besides glorifying Chinese culture and also shares the joy of Chinese New Year with foreign students. Last but not least, CNYE can provide a learning opportunity to CLS members and strengthen the sense of belongings among members. Therefore, in order to fulfill our objectives above, the Chinese New Year Extravaganza Committees’ decided to carry out 2 sub-events, which are the CNYE Exhibition, and Garden Festival.

新春馆
这活动的宗旨是让各种族的大学生更了解中国传统文化。新春实体展展示了一些中国传统物品，例如传统乐器， 文房四宝，舞狮头等等，并且在每个展示品加入了它们的简介。 另外，我们也在实体展中展示了其他资料包括 “年”的由来以及“腊八粥”的由来等。

CNYE Exhibition

The objective of this activity is to provide a better understanding about the Chinese traditional cultural to the university students from various races. It plays an important role to publicize the Garden Festival and helps to establish an atmosphere of joyful Chinese New Year in the campus. The previous exhibition had displayed some of the Chinese traditional item such as traditional instrument, the “scholar’s four jewels”, the lion dance head and etc with the description of each item accompanied it. Besides, we also included some different kind of information in the exhibition such as the information about the “Nian” origin, "La Ba" Porridge origin and others.

新春馆之挥春比赛
这项活动的宗旨是希望能提高校园里的学习书法风气和传承这逐渐被遗忘的书法文化。 除此之外，筹工委组织这次活动除了让不同文化的学生们接触这传统艺术也提供一个平台给予那些书法爱好者让他们可以交换学习书法的心得。

CNYE Corridor Calligraphy Competition
The objective of this activity is to promote the learning atmosphere of calligraphy in the campus and to continue the spirit and custom of calligraphy Besides, the committees had organized this event to expose student from different culture about this traditional art and also to provide a platform for those calligraphy-learning people so they can exchange their experience in learning calligraphy.


新春园游会
新 春园游会不仅只有多媒体大学学生的参与，甚至连附近的当地居民也参与其盛。筹工委希望为学生和居民提供一个良好环境来庆祝华人新年并让各族的学生更加了解 中国传统文化。 在新春园游会期间，筹工委准备了各种各样有关中国传统艺术的表演来让学生能对关于中国传统文化有更好的理解和透视。
Garden Festival
The objective of Garden Festival is to create a Chinese New Year atmosphere at Bukit Beruang area as to allow the local residents to celebrate Chinese New Year together with MMU undergraduates. The Garden Festival not only involves the participation of MMU students but also the participation of the residents in Malacca. So, it can foster the relationship between MMU students and Bukit Beruang’s residents. The committees hope to provide an environment for students and residents to celebrate Chinese New Year and enable non-Chinese to feel the joy of Chinese New Year celebrations. It can expose the students from different races to more Chinese Traditional Cultural. During the festival, there are performances from various bodies performing the Chinese traditional art. The committees hope by preparing all these performance, the students are able to have a better understanding and perspective about the Chinese Traditional Cultural.
